| A renovation and redecoration commission for an oak
occasional table. The table was very dirty, scratched and the wrong
colour for the clients room so I stripped, repaired and restained
the table to renovate and give the table a new lease of life. The
brief for the decoration of the table was that the hand painting should
not obliterate the wood grain while being "pretty, preferably with
flowers". I painted a translucent lacy mat with a central flower design,
this allowed the overall design to look delicate and show the wood.
The table was then varnished with a clear hard wearing satin finish. |
