| Through the interior design and decoration company,
Paint Magic, I was commissioned to decorate Bryony's bedroom with
a mural based on the tale of Sleeping Beauty. So that the mural did
not over power the room I was asked to colourwash two of the walls
the colour of the sky, and stencil Morning Glory growing up these
walls. The curtains of the room were also printed with Morning Glory.
The other two walls were to have the fairytale mural on.
Directly behind the bed the roses climb the broken wall, behind
which trees grow. There is also an owl, squirrel and butterfly to
add interest and a touch of life to the scene. The main wall shows
the gardens of the castle, the fantasy castle and through the window
the prince awakening Sleeping Beauty. In the foreground near the
door I painted toadstools and Morning Glory to add to the depth
of the scene and to link with the other walls in the room. |
