Murals and Trompe l'Oeil - Pin-board Trompe l'oeil

Originally painted as a teaching sample for decorating company and Paint Magic shops for their beginner's trompe l'oeil courses. As with all trompe l'oeils the items depicted need to have personal significance - as I designed and painted this pin board I included personal family references.

The postcard is from a visit to Cardiff Castle and is a double visual game - the postcard is painted and not real; the scene on the original postcard is a detail from the nursery border mural, painted on tiles, of childrens myths and legends, this section of the mural illustrates the Invisible Prince story - can you see the hidden shape of the Prince in the trees?

The painted tickets are for a local cinema and film current at the time (Men In Black) to which we took our son and his friends (all dressed in black and wearing shades).
